The following post was written before I started this website, as such the notes consist of quotes and summary thoughts as I read the book. I’ve pulled the book club’s thoughts together at the top, along with the original score and the new tier ranking.

Final thoughts
A good book, the characters didn’t stick as hard but some wonderful glimpses at the assassins guild. camels are hilarious, and the armies were brilliant.
The score is (brace yourselves) 3 Ptaclusp IIa’s & 2 Ptaclusp IIb’s out of 5!
This is an A-tier Pterry book!

- Bloat is extracted from the deep sea blowfish, Singularis minutia gigantica, which protects itself from enemies by inflating itself to many times its normal size. If taken by humans the effect is to make every cell in the body instantaneously try to swell some 2,000 times. This is invariably fatal, and very loud.
- Her singing always cheered him up. Life seemed so much brighter when she stopped.
